Bob Ross has affected us among thousands of others to fall in love with painting. The feeling of leaving mundane problems at bay and just go with the flow, let the brush guide you and the creation of an image begins to form. Your imagination can run free and we believe it is very similar to meditaion. One does not have to be an academic virtuoso to enyoj painting. Kids love it, and you shoud to.
- your stress levels will be lovered
- you will learn to use a brush (analog or digital)
- you will learn patience and discipline to finish
- you can also have fun with friends and take 10 minute turns to paint and see what comes out
… is analog better because your mistakes can guide to painting to go into a new, better direction?
Today we can do that in many ways, on walls, canvases, big and small, or on digital devices, using a specialized input device, like the Apple Pencil and an iPad that has such an app that allows you to create artwork. Our weapons of choice contain both analog and digital tools. The image created was made in Procreate. Digital creativity allows to take one or several steps back, to work in layers, but you still have to see that your mind’s image translates well into pixels, and you also need the same skill set of patience and endurance to finish the artwork.
Here is a link from AG trgovina that explains (in slovenian) how to paint a canvas, if you are a beginnes or seasoned pro. It is allways best to get the basics down, so we know that types of tool to choose, before we start.
1 Choosing the right canvas
2 Chosing the right colours
3 Chosing the right brushes
Being creative and recoloring the walls in the house can be a very different beast. Or can it? You can paint the walls plain white and you have yourself a white, clean room. If you like colors, then youcan go crazy. And you can also go totally crazy and paint the walls. But beware, before you start, please know, that the amount of time and energy it takes to finish will be significant. But you will have a unique room for sure. We also played with some of the room enlarnement optical illusions and had fun with that. The problem is, when you get tired of your artwork, you will have to coat 3 or 4 times in order to get the wall white again.
So know yourself, how much time you are willing to put in, because bigger canvasses take a lot more energy that the smaller ones. But the reward is allways proportional to the effort put in, they say. So try and make as many mistakes you can.
